hey everyone. i used to have oink, but my old computer contracted a virus and totally stopped working. this of course left me with no way to download torrents which caused my oink account to be deleted. i have only found one "this bike is a pipe bomb" torrent and it was on oink. I NEED oink! i asked my friend matt to send me an invite, but his account was also deleted because he now lives on a college campus where torrent downloading is prohibited. if someone sends me an invite i PROMISE i will seed as much as humanly possible. could someone PLEASE help me out?!

How do I get an oink invite?

Nope, I'm not asking for one - I do want one, but I'm starting to see that I'm one voice in a thousand, and I wouldn't expect anyone to risk their membership for me when they don't know me.

I'm currently using transmission, I don't download an extreme amount of music, and I have my settings set to seed indefinitely - so I know I'd be an asset to the community. I don't belong to any invite-only torrent sites, so I have nothing to trade. And I don't know anyone in the real world who even uses bittorrent. I run a reasonably busy business out of my home too - bellydance costume artist - so I don't have a whole lot of time to devote just to making new friends so I can maybe recieve an invite.

Does anyone who's been in my situation have any advice on how to get in? I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer!

Why I deserve an Oink invite

There's a lot of people just asking for 'em out there. I suppose that's fine, how most people go about it. But here: I made a list of reasons why I, me in particular, Orin-self, truly deserves one.

1) I've created a couple successful torrents before (see http://thepiratebay.org/user/Orinnnn )
2) I'm a darn good uploader, and have a relatively high share ratio of 4.284 (see http://www.homepie.org/images/Azureus-stats-lores.jpg )
3) I have a record collection of unusual thrift store music which I'd love to share and the means to transfer them---an external iMic soundcard and Adobe Audition (records pic is here: http://www.homepie.org/images/record-collection.jpg some of which people *might* actually want)
4) I also own a Sony MZ-n10 Minidisc recorder and a pair of Sound Professionals binaural mics (see http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?item=SP-TFB-2 ) --- the kind to record concerts with. I have only a few of those, but my collection pic is here: http://www.homepie.org/images/collected-recordings.jpg
5) I'm a good citizen of http://MySpleen.net, a cartoon tracker which is currently down for maintenance, but could trade an invite for that if the situation arises.
6) Did I mention that I really like rare and under-appreciated music and have been an avid collector and supporter since I figured out one can "download" things from "the web" and that I consider myself "awesome" in "many regards"?

Question about Azureus & firewalls

I'm trying to get Azureus configured properly by getting my firewall settings right. I'm using Zone Alarm Pro 6 right now. I know many people say it won't work, but I have found a few people who've used it successfully with Azureus.

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what I'd need to do to get the "DHT Firewalled" section showing green instead of yellow. I've already created a rule to forward the port I've assigned Azureus to use in both the firewall > expert section and program control > programs section. I restarted both my pc and firewall. It's still showing yellow.

Any suggestions or links?
