I am a bit torrent file sharing virgin. How do I get started? What makes it better than Limewire and Kazaa?

it's really just a new way of the same shit. you need a torrent client and after that you find torrent sites and download links to what you want then use the client to open and control them.

in my opinion it's best for d/ling tv shows and movies that you can't find easily, but it can be useful for all sorts of things.

When I play Starship Galactica torrents I've downloaded via Azureus - I only get audio - its playing as a song. (I've tried two different downloads from different .torrent text files and downloaded over 3.5gigs.)

WinMedia player does not seem to show "DVD features" enabled when I go to tools, options, view.

Decoder Check-up utility shows I have one mpeg-2 decoder installed: CyberlinkVideo SP decod...; CLVSD.ax... ? Do I need something else??

Sonic DigitalMedia LEv7 came with my system, but looks like I have to buy a "watch movie" upgrade?

    Suggestions please?

XP;sp2, Windows Media 10 (update shows I'm current),

      belay that request

      WOOO HOOOO!

I finally found a xvid codec - for free - and I've got sight and sound!

Fantastic stuff!! I think I'm really gonna luv bit torrent.

      My next challenge:

I want to burn to dvd (got dvdr with new machine - first timer with this too)

Any recommendations on best way to copy files to blank dvd?
      - - - Just copy files (no folders) to dvd and they will play? - okay, I guess it will depend on my player

(just trying to avoid creating too many coasters)
