Re: eMule
Sat, June 4, 2005 - 11:34 AMbeen using it since the fall of kazaa, i dont think it is your network kazaa is allways slow as molassis but the key is to dedicate a huge drive to it then have an enourmous que list so after a couple weeks you are allways getting something, i get like 3 or 4 files completed every day that amount to about 2 gigs a day but then again i have a 120gb drive just for emule hehehe -

Sun, June 5, 2005 - 3:58 AM" i have a 120gb drive just for emule hehehe"
I have a 300g ;) Half are for shows and half are for movies. I'm making it a multimedia center of sorts. Then I have my standard C drive which is 160g. The best part about it is when I want to reinstall Windows, I don't have to back up all my 300g stuff. Man, that would be a pain! -

so is this the 2000's version of "my peepee is longer than your peepee" ;-)
Mine's all on DVDs. I only share really rare stuff. The kind of thing i'd like to find if i were out searching. (god how i miss EARLY napster, when you found rare live cuts, rare world music, etc.)
"damn the record industry, anyhow. ;-) -

Re: eMule
Mon, June 6, 2005 - 1:47 PMHow do you have IDE/SATA mobo connections to plug in 5 HD's? What mobo do you have? I'm running outta space believe it or not, but I wasn't sure if I could plug in 3 HD's. Does it matter if they're on the same IDE cable? I have an 120G lying around that I can put to good use. -

Re: eMule
Tue, June 7, 2005 - 11:13 AMhey you started the mine is bigger thing i just retorted but it was a fun excercise and as for running alot of hard drives just get a raid controller card and install the driver but not the striping software and you can add 4 hard drives using one pci slot or buy a mobo with onboard raid. das what i did, if you are only using one cd or dvd drive you can use the other ide channel for a hard drive as well. just make sure that they are jumpered correctly as master slave on each ide cable, rule of thumb is the one farthes away from the motherboard on the ide is master and the other slave, if you dont jump them correctly it will not work but just experiment, oh another thought if using only stock ide cables (the two that come with the mobo) make the main windows harddrive master and the other three slave (i think its been a while). good luck and ermember who has the most terrabytes, me! ;-P
